Kyte Global was proud to participate in the highly anticipated CISO Summit 2025 in Ghana, held on 9–10 April. Cybersecurity leaders, technology officers, and compliance professionals gathered to share knowledge, network, and shape the future of information security across the African continent and beyond. As part of our mission to support cybersecurity leadership and DORA compliance in Africa, Kyte Global joined the summit to contribute valuable insights and foster cross-border collaboration.
The event was a hub for Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), Chief Technology Officers (CTOs), Compliance Experts, and cybersecurity professionals from a wide range of sectors, all converging in Accra, Ghana. They gathered to discuss the evolving threat landscape, best practices, and regulatory updates affecting the digital and financial world.
We extend our sincere thanks to Innovare for inviting us to this impactful event that creates a space where professionals from diverse industries could collaborate, connect, and share forward-thinking insights.
Representing Kyte Global at the summit were Trevor Axiak (Director) and Francis Kyereh (IT Auditor) both of whom delivered powerful and thought-provoking talks that sparked meaningful engagement with attendees.
Our Director Trevor Axiak’s Keynote on Leadership Within Cybersecurity
On Day 1 of the summit, Trevor Axiak, Director at Kyte Global, took the main stage to deliver a powerful and thought-provoking keynote speech on “Leadership within Cybersecurity.“
Trevor’s keynote explored critical themes that resonated strongly with the audience of seasoned professionals. His talk delved into:
- Embracing Mistakes – Highlighting that failures and missteps are inevitable in a fast-paced field like cybersecurity, Trevor emphasized that how leaders respond and learn from those moments is what defines true cybersecurity resilience.
- Understanding Risk – From human error to emerging threats such as supply chain vulnerabilities and insider threats, the keynote tackled the real and present dangers that CISOs must navigate on a daily basis.
- The Importance of Training – A recurrent theme throughout the summit, Trevor underscored that even the most advanced security tools are only as effective as the teams that use them. Cybersecurity awareness and regular, contextual training are indispensable.
- Compliance vs Security – In a bold take, Trevor challenged attendees to rethink the often-blurred line between being compliant and being secure. “A compliant checkbox doesn’t mean you’re secure,” he stated, encouraging companies to pursue a culture of security, not just regulatory fulfilment.
- AI as a Double-Edged Sword – With artificial intelligence permeating nearly every facet of technology, Trevor addressed how AI offers immense potential in detecting threats but also introduces new risks when used maliciously.
- Hybrid vs Remote Work – Lastly, he examined the cybersecurity implications of distributed work environments, outlining best practices for securing both hybrid and remote setups, especially in regions where infrastructure may vary widely.
The keynote sparked enthusiastic engagement from attendees. Many approached Trevor after his session to discuss the themes in more detail, exchange ideas, and personally congratulate him on his inspiring talk. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with several attendees expressing how his message on leadership, culture, and practical risk management resonated with the current challenges facing their organizations.
Francis Kyereh on DORA and Its Strategic Implications
The momentum continued on Day 2, when Francis Kyereh, our IT Auditor, gave a deep-dive presentation on the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). His talk focused on:
“DORA: Strategic Implications for Financial Services and Third-Party Providers in Ghana and Africa.”
Francis offered a comprehensive look at how the European regulation is designed to strengthen the ICT resilience of the financial sector and how it will impact businesses in Ghana and across Africa that aim to operate or partner with European financial entities.
As DORA becomes a critical requirement for financial services and third-party ICT providers wishing to do business in the EU, Francis outlined what organizations must do to align with its mandates; from governance structures and incident reporting protocols to digital resilience testing and third-party risk management.
Key takeaways included:
- Understanding Regulatory Reach – Many businesses operating in Accra and across Africa are positioning themselves as trusted partners to European institutions, and DORA will be a central pillar in determining eligibility for those partnerships.
- Compliance Requirements for African Financial Institutions – Francis explained how entities must bolster their data protection measures, business continuity plans, and cybersecurity strategies to meet DORA’s requirements.
- Reinforcing Trust through Compliance – Aligning with frameworks like DORA will not only ensure legal compliance but also enhance the reputation
Core Services Driving Resilience
During the discussions they also tied DORA readiness to existing service lines already in demand across African financial institutions, such as:
- PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard)
- Data Protection (local and international standards)
- ISO 27001 – Information Security Management Systems
- Penetration Testing & Vulnerability Assessments
- Incident Response and Forensics
These services form a strategic foundation for organizations seeking to thrive in regulated markets, and Kyte Global continues to play an instrumental role in supporting these efforts across the region.
Africa and Europe: Bridging Compliance and Cybersecurity
Throughout the summit, the Kyte Global team engaged with numerous companies and professionals from Ghana and other African countries, reinforcing the importance of collaboration across borders.
Whether in breakout sessions, panel discussions, or one-on-one meetings, a recurring theme was the growing synergy between Africa and Europe, particularly in compliance, digital transformation, and financial services.
Africa is rapidly becoming a key player in the digital financial ecosystem, and Kyte Global continues to support this transformation through:
- Advisory and audit services
- Framework implementation (PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, DORA)
- Hands-on training and awareness programmes
- Strategic partnerships to strengthen compliance and cybersecurity
The summit provided a platform to foster dialogue, create new partnerships, and align strategic objectives between continents.
Looking Ahead: Building a Resilient, Collaborative Future
The CISO Summit 2025 served not just as a knowledge-sharing platform, but as a launchpad for new partnerships, strategic alignment, and cross-border collaboration.
Both Trevor Axiak and Francis Kyereh exemplified Kyte Global’s commitment to empowering organizations across Africa with the expertise, tools, and strategies needed to navigate the complex world of cybersecurity and compliance.
As digital threats continue to evolve, the message from the summit was clear: Leadership, collaboration, and preparedness are key to thriving in the digital age.
We thank Innovare, the organizers, and all attendees for a memorable event, and we look forward to continuing the conversations sparked at CISO Summit 2025—supporting businesses in Africa and beyond as they build secure, compliant, and resilient futures.
